DDF 103 - Still Camera Craft
103 Still Camera Craft
A hands-on course that will have you taking lots of photographs with your digital camera. The course covers the technical basics as well as creative decisions, and is ideal for people new to photography, people switching to digital from film photography, or those who want to expand their camera skills with a view to video work.
What are the Assessments?
75% of the total grade for the course comes from fifteen small assignments where you will take photos according to a given brief, so it’s a very hands on course. 20% of the total mark comes from the portfolio of work that you will hand in at the end of the course, and the remaining 5% comes from your participation on the web forum.
What Gear do I need?
•A digital still camera - Digital SLR preferred, but most digital still cameras will be adequate
•basic image editing software. Photoshop is ideal, but basic software such as iPhoto is perfectly fine for this course.
Here are a couple of sample pages from the course documents. These are just pages at random, but they’ll give you an idea of the course content.
