Diploma in Digital Film

DDF 108 - Graphic Design

This paper deal with still images and is intended as an introduction to the principles of design for filmmakers. The course is structured around a series of problems for you to solve, and it's a very fun, hands on course.

What are the assessments?

At the start of the course there are a series of tasks that will get you familiar with the basics of graphic design software, such as using selection tools, and layers, as well as a little on the basics of design – colour theory and typography. Then we move into the assignments that carry more weight – designing posters CD / DVD covers, T Shirts, and manipulating images and more.

What gear do I need?

Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.

Here are a couple of sample pages from the course documents. These are just pages at random, but they’ll give you an idea of the course content.
