DDF 204 - Feature Film Screenwriting

DDF 204 Feature Film Screenwriting

In 104 we've covered the basics of writing dialogue and the screenwriting format. Now in 204, our experts will guide you through the writing of your own feature length screenplay from start to finish.

This paper is one of my favourites since there's no limit to your imagination. In the other papers I'll hold you back to ideas that you can achieve – if you want to set your short film project on Mars I'll grill you on how you're going to do it to make sure that your project doesn't flop – but for this paper you can write a story set on Mars, in 17th Century Venice, or your own backyard.

What are the assessments?

Most of the assessments are based on the stages of a single major project - a feature length screenplay. There are separate assessments for outline, treatment first act and final project, as well as a small assignment on genre.

Requirements: Microsoft Word or NeoOffice. You must have passed DDF104 before commencing this paper.

Here are a couple of sample pages from the course documents. These are just pages at random, but they’ll give you an idea of the course content.
